ESA: Ukraine has delivered enough engines to meet Vega rocket manifest through 2023; gapfiller sought for 2024-2026

PARIS — Ukraine’s Yuzhmash engine manufacturer has delivered enough upper stages for Europe’s Vega and Vega-C rockets to meet these rockets’ manifests at least through 2023, European Space Agency (ESA) officials said.

While still declining to specify precise numbers, ESA said the situation with respect to Vega’s Avum upper-stage engine, built at Yuzhmash’s plant in Dnipro facility — where Russian missile and artillery attacks have been reported — appears better now than it did a month ago.
